Riding through Khuwsgul isn’t just about the destination – it is about the journey: Our routes take you off beaten truck into areas rarely seen outsiders some part are only crossable on two wheels and miles and miles of untouched and pure wilderness await: breathtaking landscapes, a deep sense of freedom, and unforgettable moment scattered across your motorcycle adventure.

One of the highlights includes a dramatic river crossing: due to deep current and unpredictable riverbed, motorcycles are loaded onto a rugged Soviet-era 6x6 army truck for safe passage- an adventure in itself.

Lake Khuwsgul -known as the dark blue pearl, features pristine shores and sparse human habitation. Here, you will meet locals, including the Tsaatan reindeer herders, one of the last truly nomadic tribes living in harmony with the taiga. Along the way stop by a nomad family, share tea with herders and experience hospitality passed down for generations. It is a raw, real connection to a way of life that hasn’t changed and visit the sacred Dayan deerkh Cave, one of the region’s most revered natural sites.

We provide mustang shineray 200cc motorcycle, which is commonly used by local herders in Mongolia.

Navigation: For those who prefer a more independent riding experience, we will provide a suggested GPS route to follow.

However , if you choose this option, you will need to ride ahead of the main group at all times to maintain group flow and safety.

Essential documents: -motorcycle driving license ( with international driving permit) -Travel insurance ( must include motorcycle riding )

Equipment and Gear: You will need to bring your own riding gear and equipment including helmet, boots, gloves, and any other personal safety gear you prefer and you have the option to carry your personal belongings either on your motorcycle or in the support vehicle -whichever is more convenient for you.

Itinerary

Day 1.

Your driver and guide will greet you at the airport/railway station and transfer you to a centrally located hotel. Free day to relax and discover the city on your own while staying in a good location hotel. Because you may have different arrival times.

Day 2.

Meet our drivers and guide in the hotel lobby and be transferred to the airport for your flight to Murun and transferred from Murun airport to tourist camp next to Delgermurun river. After lunch we are going to test ride to the most important monuments related to the Bronze Age were found in the Huvsgul mountains. Researchers complete the statistic figure of deer stone, and it shows that there are 233 deer stones registered in Huvsgul province and 30 of them in Uushigiin Uvur. The property of deer stone is testimony to religion, sacrificial ritual, practice and culture as much as deer stones are a symbol or reflection of spiritual belief of the ancient people.

Day 3. Baynzurkh sum (Boshloi khad)

Your exciting journey begins on this day. We will head out north and enter the wilderness as at mountain greet you with impeccable view with horses, yaks, goats and sheep in the valley, Gers are near the river. There are amazing natural landscapes-frompicturesque valleys and meadows to majestic mountains and crystal clean rivers around Baynzurkh

Day 4. Darkhad depression

Darkhad depression is a large valley a broad expanse of open steppe surrounded by Ulaan Taiga and Hordil Saridag mountain range. This area covers over 4000 square kilometers and has many lakes and rivers those remain the significant wetland areas. Darkhad depression is home to natural habitat classified as Taiga, Alpine tundra, glacial formed valleys, forest and swamp. Also, this vast region as northernmost tip of Mongolia provides home to the reindeer population.

Today we are going to see Ar bosgot canyon. After that we are going to visit nomad family.

Day 5. Encounter with Tsaatan (Reindeer herders)

Today offers truly unforgettable experience as you journey deep into remote wilderness to meet the Tsaatan people – one of the last communities of reindeer herders in the world. Living in the heart of taigaforest, these nomadic herders maintain a unique lifestyle that has remained largely unchanged for centuries. You’ll be welcomed into their traditional tipi-style tents, where you can test fresh reindeer milk and immerse yourself in their fascinating culture, traditions, and way of life. The reindeer itself is a very unique an animal without sweat glands, therefore it has to live in coldest part of the country. That is why the Tsaatan people live in some of the most remote and frigid regions of northern Mongolia, where winter temperature often drop as low -45oC to -50oC

On this day, you will have the opportunity to explore the stunning Siberian taiga through one of two unique experiences:

Taiga West (Horseback Expedition):

Saddle up for a scenic horseback ride through dense forests and open landscape, leading you to remote reindeer herder’s camp.
This traditional route offers an immersive connection to the land and its people.

For those seeking a faster- paced experience, take a thrilling motorcycle ride across rugged terrain to reach a reindeer herder’s camp nestled deeper into the eastern taiga. This route combines adventure cultural discovery.

Day 6.

After lunch we will head back to tourist camp as we started our horse trek. The days will be intriguing unique experience of your lifetime.

Day 7 Lake khuwsgul

We are going ride and pass the Khoridol Saridag mountains which are 150 km long mountain range located longitudinally from south to north between the western shore of Lake Khuwsgul and Darkhad valley. Lake Khuwsgul is located in northern Mongolia, is a stunning natural wonder that is often referred to as the Dark Blue Pearl of the country. Which is the largest fresh water lake in Mongolia by volume and second largest with fresh water in Asia. Max length 136km ,max width 36.5km max depth 267m. The surrounding terrain is mountainous and peaks which have panoramic views of Khordil Sardig ranges and Bayan mountain ranges, along the west shore of the lake.

Day 9. Dayan Deerkh Cave and Dayan Deerkh monastery

Today we are going to ride to Dayan Deerkh Cave and Dayan Deerkh monastery.

Dayan Deerkh monastery was once home to many monks and temple. After crackdown on Buddhism during Mongolia’s socialist period the number of monks decreased dramatically, and the center was eventually shut down in 1938 and its buildings destroyed. Dayan Deerkh cave is one of the largest and most famous caves in Mongolia. Located 20km from the ruins of the old monastery, the cave has about 120 meters of corridors.

Distance: Ride 220km
We are going to cross Uur river with army truck and camping near Uur river.

Day 10. Lake Hargal and Eg Tarvagatai River

Hargal lake is situated nearby to the town Teshig, Bulgan Province and has an elevation of 1059 meters

There is scenic area of rivers, forest and mountains, suitable for hiking, riding and camping, though there are no tourist camp yet.

Day 11. Baatarvan Healt Resort

Day 12. Drive to Ulaanbaatar

On the way back to Ulaanbaatar we are going to see Uran Togoo Volcano which is extinct volcano in the in the Uran Togoo Tulga Uul. It is artistic circular crater contains a small lake about 20 meters wide 1,5 meters deep from Uran Togoos highest point visitor can enjoy unobstructed, panoramic views of the volcanic field, distant blue mountains, and valleys filled with grazing sheep
